PFCU4ME is a free online banking app for customers of the PFCU credit union.

PFCU4ME Mobile Banking is a free Android app developed on behalf on the PFCU credit union specifically for its customers. Note that if you do not have a PFCU account, then this app will serve you no purpose since you will not be able to log in to it and uses the various features that it offers.

Note that if you are using this app for the first time, you will have to enable online banking for your account. That may need to be completed by phone or through a PC. If online banking is enabled, you can activate your device through this app as long as it supports SMS. If the device does not support SMS, then you may need to activate the device via your PC or over the phone.

The app has a fairly standard user interface for online banking programs. Each functionality has its own page, and every page has a Menu button, which expands the side menu. The menu contains Home, Messages, Bill Payment, Transactions, Branches, Services, Help, Settings and Log Off.

The Home page provides a list of all of your PFCU accounts as well as useful links to pages that detail your Budget and Spending. You will find those links at the bottom of the page. The Message page contains any notifications that you have received from the credit union.

The Bill Payment page lets you manage one-time and recurring bill payments. You can create these payments, edit them and cancel them. Transactions give you an overview of pending as well as recently completed transactions. You can also set up transfers, including POP transfers to other people.

Branches helps you find PFCU locations. You can enter a zip code, but with privileges, the app can also discover locations based on GPS. It also provides ATM locations as well as contact information. Services provides access to various additional tools. Help feels a bit more like fulfilling an obligation than providing a useful knowledge base, and settings lets you customize the app for readability and the like. Log off lets you force logging off, but the app will do so automatically when it is suspended.

The PFCU4ME app has come a long way since it was originally introduced. At launch, it not only lacked many features that modern online banking customers expect but had performance issues that resulted in disfunction and even outright crashes. The app has come a long way since then. It is still missing some features that customers want, such as the option to initiate certain types of transfers. But anyone who soured on the app early on should take another look at it just to see how far it has come.
